Hospitality interior design, experience first.

KEMPA Design works across the full hospitality spectrum, from independently-owned boutique hotels to elevated Airbnb-style properties, restaurants, lounges, and full-scale hotel concepts. Our sweet spot is the boutique end of the market, where personality, atmosphere, and a strong sense of place are what set a property apart from the noise.

We design spaces that feel immersive, memorable, and operationally functional, built around how guests actually move through the property and how the business actually runs day-to-day.

How we work

Three principles that shape every hospitality project we take on, and that protect both the design vision and the developer’s margin.

Luxury hotel lobby with cascading pendant lights, marble reception desk, spiral staircase and family with luggage.

What KEMPA Design includes

Hospitality design crosses guest experience, operational efficiency, and commercial performance, three things that need to work together from the first sketch. KEMPA Design takes the full interior scope across rooms, public areas, F&B, wellness, and pre-opening setup, working alongside operators, owners, and brand teams.

The list below shows where we typically work within a hospitality project; the exact scope is shaped by whether the project is branded, independent, a renovation, or a new build.

Luxury living room with cream sofas, glass coffee table, floor-to-ceiling windows and ocean views under a large chandelier.

Common questions

Do you work on independent properties or branded hotels?

Both. Our sweet spot is boutique, independently-owned properties where we can develop a distinct identity. For branded hotels, we interpret and implement existing brand standards within the design and construction documentation.

Yes, this is a significant part of our hospitality work. We focus on creating interiors that feel warm, memorable, and photograph beautifully, while being durable and operationally appropriate for high-turnover use.

Yes. F&B fit-outs are some of our most technically demanding projects, durability, maintenance, seating layouts, acoustics, lighting atmosphere, and operational flow all need to work together. See also our **Commercial fit-out** service.

Ideally during the early planning or concept stage, before construction documentation is locked in. This is when we can shape the property’s identity and operational flow at the same time.

Yes. We work across new builds, renovations, repositioning, and full rebrand initiatives.
